Bamboo Giant is recently under new ownership but still is and always has been a family-owned business that has been providing bamboo to the West Coast and beyond for 25 years.
We have grown over 80 different species of bamboo on nearly 20 acres of bamboo hidden away in the hills of Aptos. This tranquil nursery & garden feels like stepping into a bamboo forest in China. It features a pond with a waterfall, walking paths, and all the bamboo of your dreams. We are now offering venue services as well! From School Teacher to Bamboo Sensei
Hello,
My name is Daniel J. Smith. I am the grounds and sales manager at Bamboo Giant. I started working at Bamboo Giant in June 2023. Although my stint at Bamboo Giant just started as a summer job (I originally thought I was going to be teaching during the 2023-2024 school year), I decided to stay on and manage the grounds. Although I did not have a lot of experience working with bamboo, I immediately fell in love with the job and have been mastering the ways of the giant grass ever since. Although I am no longer teaching in a school, I continue to teach others about all the different beautiful bamboo plants and their many uses.
Office Manager Extraordinaire
Michelle Bolle is our office manager. She also manages rental units on the bamboo giant property and beyond. She is usually the first one you will meet when you walk into bamboo giant, and she can answer almost any question you may have regarding the property, bamboo, or the additional products we sell. She usually has the task of running the entire office by herself, so if you don't see her initially when you walk into our office, she is probably just behind her computer talking on the phone and trying to balance the books all at once. She really helps keep the place running, and our office space looks great because of her.
